Please read the following guidelines carefully before selling firearms and associated items on Used-Guns.com.au. We require all items for sale to display the "Condition" of the item. There are 6 x specific condition categories from which you can choose when setting up your Auction or Advertisement. Please be aware that we have specific guidelines (below) that must be followed when you assess the condition of the item and select the Condition level. BRAND NEW

BRAND NEW CONDITION:

This category is only to be used by Gun Dealers and Retailers auctioning or selling guns and accessories or other similar items on the Site that are new stock, or new old stock, sold with a warranty and return policy.

Items listed as "Brand New" must be accompanies by the blue "Dealer" banner selected during the setup of the advertisement. A link to the warranty and return policy should included in the advertisement.

Private individuals who list items as "Brand New" conditions will be asked to edit the advertisement and choose another category. Repeated violations of this policy will not be tolerated. Our strict control of the use of these terms is done to reduce any confusion or misunderstanding about the condition and quality of goods sold on the this Site.

 

All advertisements and Auctions for firearms must include the identifying serial number of the firearm in the description of the item. This can be done by filling in the "Serial Number" section and the state in which it the firearm is registered. To save you time and inconvenience, we ask members to complete the profile section during registration that includes their firearms licence details. This information is then automatically shown to authorities scanning our website for stolen or unregistered firearms. Displaying firearms licences and serial numbers when advertising  these items for sale is required by Australian State Laws. Any advertisement or Auction will not be listed without this information. NEAR NEW

NEAR NEW CONDITION:

This category is to be used for items bought brand new from a retail outlet or Gun Dealer. The item may have been opened and inspected but never used. It must include the original packaging, but will not be covered by any Warranty or Retailer Return Policy.

In the case of a firearms, the item may have been test fired with less than 20 rounds and been cleaned. The firearm must have the appearance of a new item with no marks or blemishes in the appearance and function as new with no wear.

Items listed for sale or Auction "AS NEW" may be sold by Private Sellers and Dealers on the Site.  Dealers should state clearly that the item is not covered by a warranty and return policy if this is the case. Damaged in transit items should be identified immediately upon arrival and inspection. A "damaged in transit" claim should be lodged against the insured carrier/courier in this case.

EXCELLENT CONDITION: 

This category is to be used for items bought brand new or second hand that have had very little use. and have no apparent wear, marks or dings & scratches.

In the case of items bought new, the firearm should not have fired more than 100 rounds from new. Original receipts should accompany any firearm sold or auctioned and identified as having very low round counts. The firearm should be in superior condition and fully functional with no obvious barrel wear, marks, dings, chips or scratches. To an untrained eye, the firearms should appear to be almost new. 

Items listed for sale or Auction in "Excellent Condition" may be sold by Private Sellers and Dealers on the Site.  All items sold in this category do not have a factory/retail warranty or return policy. Damaged in transit items should be identified immediately upon arrival and inspection. A "damaged in transit" claim should be lodged against the insured carrier/courier in this case.

 

Firearms not able to pass a buyers firearms serviceability certification process, do not meet this category.

VERY GOOD CONDITION: 

This category is to be used for firearms & items that are second hand, are fully functional and have only a few very minor marks or scratches or very minor paint or surface marks. All marks and surface blemishes should be identified in the advertisement in written form with photos of all obvious marks or scratches displayed in the advertisement.

Failure to advise the seller or bidders of any cosmetic damage may result in poor customer feedback and jeopardise your Site reputation and membership. Surface polishing or burnishing of wear surfaces is not considered damage if it is consistent with the age and identified with photographs. Polishing of hardened wear surfaces is a natural process. If you are unsure, have the firearm inspected by a Gun Dealer / Firearm appraiser close to the sellers location prior to purchasing.

In the case of firearms, the items may have holster wear marks on the exterior surfaces, minor to moderate wear marks and scratches. However there should be no rust on surfaces and their should be no broken or missing parts, screws or grip cracks or splits. The barrel may be worn but still in good serviceable condition and be able to pass a "firearms serviceability" certifications process as required in some states of Australia. Firearms not able to pass a buyers firearms serviceability certification process, do not meet this category.

In the case of firearms, the items may have heavy holster wear substantial exterior marks on the exterior surfaces including scratches, scrapes and dings in the metal surfaces. The firearm may have moderate to heavy wear on internal services, but still be functional and safe. The firearm should be able to pass a police firearms serviceability certification process, with minor repairs or replacement parts. Items in this category may require replacement parts that are difficult to locate.
